The modern Luddites and the international grifters are meeting in Belem, Brazil, for their Conference of the Parties (COP) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which convenes every five years. They have just four days left of their 18-day cocktail party to negotiate big end-of-session pronouncements that would justify their holding another United Nations-sponsored 30-year-long hysterical global warming scam on the international community.
An energetic promoter of climate hysteria, the Associated Press included in its November 11 mid-conference report on shortcomings of conference objectives, including “implementation of past promises not yet kept”, “unfulfilled pledges for rich countries to give money to poor countries”, and “telling nations to go back to the drawing board on what experts consider inadequate climate-fighting plans”.
If the Associated Press had not been ideologically committed to advancing the UN’s climate change agenda, its reporters would have written about how astonishing it is that the conference had lasted for 30 years based on readily available contrarian information! Had they looked, AP reporters have available reliable sources showing that climate change is historically a naturally recurring event, that projections of man-made global warming are based on faulty science, that the United Nations interventions in solving world problems are unreliable and self-serving, and that charlatans are always available to use misinformation to promote their own power, ideologies, and wealth.
Ice-core samples from Greenland have provided researchers with comparable temperature and CO2 data that have been scientifically accepted to create accurate profiles over the last tens of thousands of years. In the 10,000 years since the last Great Ice Age ended, the planet has experienced eight warming and cooling cycles, each lasting from 500 to 800 years. Our planet is currently in a warming cycle that began during the coldest temperatures of the Little Ice Age.
Coincidentally with the rising temperature trend, the Industrial Revolution developed. Overaggressive scientists and observers incorrectly claimed that causal correlation existed between Earth’s temperature increases and atmospheric CO2 increases resulting from fossil fuel use. Strong causal correlation between rising temperatures and historic temperature trends is clear; however, no significant dependent correlation between these two variables has been scientifically proven, just claimed!
Al Gore used a non-reproducible ‘Hockey Stick’ temperature hysteria, from which the Little Ice Age was deleted, as his basic argument for his ‘An Inconvenient Truth” argument that he used to create Greta Thunberg and other Earth Day activists behind his lucrative Green Energy investments.
Operating on Other People’s Money, the United Nations bureaucrats became early supporters of any new Ponzi Scheme to transfer wealth from the West’s industrialized nations to the underdeveloped world’s countries, including China. They created the UN International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which they used for their monopolist grab of scientific climate research. They then developed their own non-scientific summary panel that prepares an annual IPCC Annual Report for dissemination to the press to justify the redistribution of Earth’s wealth.
Together with a sympathetic mainstream press, the UN and its fellow travelers collaborated to censor any dissenting views.
Climate computer models, which never matched actual temperatures, forecasted existential threats to continued human existence if the IPCC recommendations were not implemented. These supplied energy to the Thunberg activists, for elite university research grants, for the Chinese industrial policy to produce solar panels, batteries, EVs, and windmills, and for Western politicians to implement NET ZERO 50 plans, undermining their economies.
COP30 should conclude with only a whimper on November 21st, but don’t expect the Associated Press to report that global warming hysteria is over. Their reporters, editors, and most of the mainstream media have a long-term investment in the man-made global warming myth.
