Yak! Yak! Yak!
I am Gatsby Jenkins, otherwise known in our neighborhood as “The Great Gatsby”. I hang out with my buddy, the author, John Whitmore Jenkins, who has allowed me this space on www.jenkins-speaks.com to communicate directly with you. He and I live in our doghouse where I spend much of my time In his office taking in some of my 18 winks daily while he writes. We take walks together each morning when I meet numerous friends, and he fixes me my One-Square meal each day and occasional snacks.
He made me a minor celebrity by including my picture on the above left in his recent book “Looking Through a Glass Darkly: Divided American and the Gathering Storm”. My picture is right next to Toto, Dorothy’s famous terrier in the “Wizard of Oz”. My original portrait on the above right was painted by the world-famous artist, Jack Gerrits.
Just a couple of purchases of our book each month will keep me fed each day, occasional trips to my vet, and a trip every two months or so to my groomer at the Perky Poodle. We must remind them on every visit or so that, according to John, I am “a very fine” Bijon, not a fancy poodle with long, fuzzy bird-dog ears.
If you like my recommendations, send me some Fan Mail; however, if you don’t like them, just “unsubscribe”, for I don’t get paid for this part-time job.
For those of you that can sit still long enough to read real books, you might find some items of interest from this pre-screened selection from our home library.
See John’s Recent Posts about the step-by-step progress of the election, PLUS see his most recent “The Gang Who Could Not Shoot Straight…”
In the current political environment where mendacity and power seem most rewarded, the following group of eclectic books have helped me to stay sane, grounded, and understand the world we live in, all with a perspective of history, which within the current generation, just began in 2000 or later. Enjoy! In this book you will read how:
