Donald Trump was named Time Magazine ‘Person of the Year’, however, that distinction should have been shared with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Together these two men give free Western people the only strong leaders who can stand up to the challenges to open societies presented by the three Axis of Evil dictators of Russia, China, and Iran. This New World Dis-Order in the face of weak American policies during the last twenty-five years must come to an end.
This new year offers a rare opportunity for these two leaders to form an alliance to confront, checkmate, and ultimately defeat these three dictators.
To capitalize on this opportunity, Trump and Netanyahu must recognize the new geopolitical realities that have occurred in the last quarter century and work together to develop a New-World Order to replace or overcome them. These new realities include:
- The Old-World Order created by the United States in 1944 at Bretton Woods has ended.
- Russia has been allowed to invade or impose its will on other nations.
- Iran has been appeased while its proxies attacked Israel and American interests.
- China is threatening Taiwan with invasion and assimilation into China.
- Russia, Iran, and China have formed an Axis of Evil to oppose the U.S. and its Western allies.
- The United States is viewed by the world as a declining power.
Six months ago, Israel was bogged down in its war in Gaza against Hamas. From Lebanon, Hezbollah was sending hundreds of missiles daily into the country forcing civilian evacuation from its northern region. The U.S. and internal groups were pushing Israel to enter a ceasefire in Gaza to repatriate the hostages held by Hamas. World opinion was condemning Israel for genocide on the Palestinian population in Gaza. The International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague threatened Netanyahu with war crimes. The U.S. was weak in its support for Israeli policies and withheld its support of Israel at the United Nations.
Promoted and funded by Iran, no one could foresee how Israel could turn around this dire situation to its advantage.
However, refusing the Biden Administration’s advice, Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu killed major Hamas officials in Gaza and in Iran. He repulsed Iranian missile attacks, and Israeli air attacks destroyed Iranian air defenses in daring retaliatory air strikes. Within less ess than four weeks’ time, Netanyahu changed the entire dynamic of the Israeli/Iranian conflict!
Immediately following the above, the ruling Assad regime in Syria collapsed into an Islamist terror group backed by Turkey. Putin quickly evacuated Russian air and naval forces based in Syria and gave Assad and his family asylum in Russia. Overnight Turkey eliminated Russian influence in the Middle East and left the Russian naval forces stranded in the Mediterranean Sea.
Simultaneously with these events, Donald Trump, who is a strong supporter of Israel, was re-elected U.S. president. Even before taking office, Trump was orchestrating American policy changes.
Iran – To defeat this Evil Axis, a Trump/Netanyahu partnership could capitalize on the recent events that halted Iran’s role as a Middle East puppet master and eliminate it as a viable Axis of Evil partner with Russia and China. Turkey is in a strategic location geographically and has the economic and political strength to replace Iran’s hegemony over the area and to reduce Iran’s value to Russia and China, therefore, the Trump/Netanyahu Alliance must reach accommodations with Turkey’s President Erdogan.
Iran’s radical Shia leadership has been seriously challenged internally, so Iran could be the first of the three Axis of Evil countries to be visibly challenged by the new Trump/Netanyahu Alliance. Joint U.S./Israeli assaults should be directed at Iranian air and naval forces, its oil industry, its nuclear capability, and its drone factories which supply Russian forces in Ukraine. This will be the first visible signal to the world that there is a new sheriff in town!
Systematically using the underlying weaknesses of Russia and China, this new Trump/Netanyahu Alliance could begin remolding a New-World Order to its own specifications.
Russia – Even before taking office, Trump has already initiated talks with Putin to end the war in Ukraine. Trump’s primary objective should be the removable of all Russian forces from Ukraine now and forever. Behind the scenes, Trump should let Putin know that failure to do so would result in Russia’s oil exports being intercepted in route and detained. Several key ocean chokepoints exist on Russia’s oil routes to China and other client countries that could be supplied by either U.S. or Saudi oil.
After seeing Iran effectively removed from the Axis of Evil, Putin would curtail his aggressive actions in the future or see his reign in Russia coming to an end.
China – China’s poor demographics forecast a rapid population decline with an elderly population to feed. Its economy cannot fully function if its ability to import oil and food is disrupted. The uncompromising Chinese mercantile regime is causing Western and other purchasers of Chinese products to begin seeking other supply sources. The enlarged Chinese military will become a fiscal burden with fewer available resources to maintain it.
As the decline occurring within his country becomes fully understood by it President-for-Life Xi Jinping, his actions become less predictable. War, peace, accommodation, or another Cold War? If Putin can be neutralized, peace or accommodation may be Xi’s favored course of action. If such a stalemate can be obtained, then America can seriously begin the task of redefining a world order whose economic engine is centered in the New World countries of the Western Hemisphere – the topic of future discussion.
Have a very Happy New Year!
