Before the upcoming 2026 midterm election, most voters in past elections believed the U.S. was roughly divided between Democrats and Republicans. People assumed voting for either party was a patriotic way to support the country and choose among the alternative policies being offered to make it better.
That assumption is no longer valid!
The 2025 election of a communist mayor of New York City and the admission of socialists and Marxists running under the Democratic Party’s new Big Tent in the 2026 midterms have exposed the fact that Marxist ideology has been fundamentally transforming our society for decades. The architect of that ideological invasion is a little-known early-20th-century Italian Marxist philosopher, journalist, and politician, Antonio Gramsci (1891-1937) – see above.
Gramsci developed the theory of “cultural hegemony,” a fancy way of saying a society’s culture defines its people, as the foundation for transforming America’s focus on individual liberties into a revised society that transfers that power collectively to the State. According to Gramsci, the means to accomplish this was to pervert every major American cultural institution into a covert purveyor of collectivist change. The destruction of what has become described as Western thought began in elite American Universities, especially with professors from Europe’s Frankfurt School, such as Herbert Marcuse and Derrick Albert Bell, Jr.
In Benjamin Franklin’s Poor Richard’s Almanac in 1736, Franklin gave us the expression “the rotten apple spoils his companion”. This truism explains how a few rotten apples allowed into our finest universities could create more rotten professors who permeate their theories into the minds of myriads of young graduates who disperse throughout our culture. Over time, these rotten apples and their minions undermined the system our Founders laid out, based on the excellent theories of John Locke and Adam Smith.
Much of American culture is protected in the U.S. Constitution’s Bill of Rights, the first ten amendments added by the States before ratifying the Constitution. These Rights include freedom of the press, freedom of speech, religious freedom, judicial rights, and reservations to the States and the People for all but prescribed federal functions. Special training for leaders in these protected areas resides in the universities, so Gramsci’s approach to American culture centered there.
- Journalism schools have trained graduates to view Socialist programs proposed by the federal government favorably.
- Religious leaders have been indoctrinated in the Social Gospel, which reads more like the platform of a socialist political party than church doctrine, and has replaced religious activity in both Catholic and Protestant hierarchical church denominations.
- Family coherence and parental rights are being increasingly constrained by government action.
- Our judicial system is administered by lawyers indoctrinated by Gramsci/Marxist-leaning professors – judges, prosecutors, and law enforcement.
- The effectiveness of our armed forces has been compromised by social justice mandates.
- University graduates dominate our primary and secondary schools.
Most importantly, our Administrative State, the non-Constitutional structure implemented by President Woodrow Wilson, made Gramsci’s theories practical to implement in American life. Surprise – Wilson was a Princeton University president and professor before becoming a major party politician! If the American Experiment is successfully replaced by a hybrid Marxist system in the U.S., they will replace portraits of Washington and Lincoln in their offices with those of Gramsci and Wilson.
The cadre of university-indoctrinated specialists alone cannot win the 2026 midterms. They need the support of the useful idiots (naive or easily influenced people who are manipulated, often for political purposes, without realizing they are being used) among us who cannot see that Gramsci dynamics have infiltrated our institutions and are dedicated to fundamentally transforming the United States.
These useful idiots include those who think the current president, who leaves office in two years, is a greater threat to our nation than those who worked for decades to fundamentally transform our nation!
